The Architectural Foundation Gallery

The Architectural Foundation of Santa Barbara is pleased to announce Kids Draw Architecture Gallery Opening and Holiday Party on Sunday, November 13 from 1pm to 3pm.

Kids Draw Architecture (KDA) program is designed to help the participants learn about architecture and the skill of drawing. This year, the sketch session took place on the lawn of the Santa Barbara County Courthouse. 

The AFSB Gallery will feature drawings selected for the KDA 2023 calendar and will be on display until January 4, 2023. 

The 2023 calendars will be available for purchase at the gallery opening, the AFSB office and local bookstores.

Kids Draw Architecture 2022 / Niños Dibujan Arquitectura 2022

Kids Draw Architecture Sketch Session at the Courthouse is back!

Join us on May 1st from 1-3pm at the Santa Barbara Courthouse on 1100 Anacapa Street to draw with local architects and artists, materials provided! We will also be accepting mailed in drawings of the Santa Barbara Courthouse through May 27th, 2022, more information below.

Jack Van Thyne, a junior at San Marcos High, won first place.

Susy Lopez, a freshman at Dos Pueblos High, won second place.

Olivia Doman, a junior from Santa Ynez Valley High, won third place.

Ellie Gleason, a sophomore at Dos Pueblos High, was awarded Honorable Mention.

Rachel Lin, a senior at Dos Pueblos High, was awarded Honorable Mention.

Congratulations on all who participated! It was a joy to have this competition despite the complications due to Covid-19 and we look forward to another year of the High School Design Competition!

We are excited to present the 2020 High School Design Competition in Santa Barbara County! 

Sharpen your pencils and get your calculators ready! 

The High School Design Competition will be kicking off this year on Tuesday, March 10th at 7:30 am at the Santa Ynez Union High School or Direct Relief, Santa Barbara.
